FEDCO, which develops and manufactures high pressure pumps and energy recovery devices for seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis desalination, is also investing in a services facility and a customer training centre at the WaterHub.
These FEDCO facilities, which will be ready by June 2014, will be co-located with Torishima Pump Mfg Co Ltd’s WaterHub operations. Japan’s Torishima Pump took a 50% stake in FEDCO last year (see Pump Industry Analyst, June 2013).
The WaterHub location will allow FEDCO to collaborate on new technology development for reverse osmosis and water reuse solutions.
“PUB WaterHub was a location of choice and a natural evolution in FEDCO’s continued growth in the region. As our continued improvements in existing products and innovation in new products have gained acceptance, this proximity with our natural partners will help FEDCO and Torishima engage in more meaningful ways and further strengthen our foothold in Asia and Australia. This also sets the stage for us to add resources in the region to help us support our customers. Being close to our customers and continually providing support is very important to us,” said Sanjeev Verma, FEDCO’s director of sales and marketing.
The WaterHub is already home to Memsys, Nitto Denko/Hydranautics, Siemens, Toshiba and Xylem.
